We are a small, friendly and welcoming GP Practice looking for an enthusiastic Admin / Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis.

Our reception team plays a really important role in the Practice. As the first person many of our patients speak to or see, we are looking for someone who is approachable, caring and professional, with a genuine desire to help people.

You will be joining a supportive team where everyone works together to provide a friendly and efficient service to our patients and one of our commitments to our staff is to provide training from day 1 which continues throughout your employment.

The role

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Summarising patient notes and other administrative tasks.
  • Dealing with administrative requests and updating patient records.
  • Filing patients letter’s to their medical records and coding patient needs, using Anima and Docman.
  • Supporting the Recall Team with administrative assistance including maintaining spreadsheets
  • Liaising with GPs, nurses and other members of the practice team.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
  • Welcoming patients and providing a warm and professional reception service.
  • Answering telephone calls and helping patients with their enquiries.
  • Booking and managing appointments.
  • Signposting patients to appropriate services where required.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Friendly, approachable and naturally helpful.

  • Reliable, hardworking and a good team player.
  • Organised and able to manage a busy workload.
  • Patient and understanding, particularly when dealing with people who may be worried or unwell.
  • A confident communicator with a good telephone manner.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and treat patients with respect and dignity.

Previous GP Surgery or NHS reception experience would be an advantage but is not essential. Experience using our clinical system (EMIS Web) would also be an advantage but again is not necessary, as training and support will be provided for the right person.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone with the right attitude who will fit well within our friendly team.

What we can offer

  • A welcoming and supportive working environment.
  • A friendly team who genuinely work together.
  • Full training and ongoing support.
  • The opportunity to develop your skills and experience within primary care.
